Little is known about the rogue, totally isolationist island state of Sahrani. The island's totalitarian dictatorship has never allowed outside eyes to step foot on the island and rumors from people that used to live there describe the area as a police state.
Several months ago, human intelligence assets revealed that components used in the manufacture and operation of nuclear reactors were being shipped to the island. The United Nations sent formal demands to the Sahrani government to allow nuclear inspectors onto the island to ensure that the materials were not being used to manufacture nuclear devices. The inspector team was allowed onto the island and then publicly executed by military personnel.
A combined western coalition force has begun an invasion of the island with the ultimate goal to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons and to investigate the events surrounding the UN personnel's deaths.
A Marine Expeditionary Force has arrived off the coast of the island and will serve as the spearhead unit in the assault. Naval elements of this task group have successfully blockaded the island and it is now cutoff from supply. It is unknown just how much and how many resources the enemy has in reserve.
The primary objective for the opening mission is to capture a large commercial port on the coast of the island that appears to serve has the enemy's logistical hub in the desert-type area of the island.Operational Order
